Tristan received the manliest birthday gift when he turned four. His Aunty Coralie had sent him his very own Avon shaving kit all the way from Canada!
His little face lit up when he realised what it was. He was a big boy now, just like his daddy! He could hardly contain himself until later that day when he would be able to have his very first shave!
How to have your first shave:
First, the necessary items had to be gathered around the sink for Tristan’s first shave: A bowl of hot (but not too hot) water, a face cloth, shaving gel, razor, small mirror, and some all-important after shave.
Daddy took the lead in showing his young protege how it was all done. Tristan had been watching his daddy with interest for years; but now it was his turn to do it, so he had to pay extra close attention!
First, you wet your facecloth and wipe down your face to soften up those pesky whiskers.
Next you check your razor again to ensure that it is nice and sharp so you don’t cut yourself.

Then you apply your shaving cream.
Now it’s FINALLY time to get down to the business of shaving! Move the razor up, be careful not to nip yourself. So much to remember!
Once you’ve covered all the areas, use that facecloth again to clear the little hairs from your smooth face.
And don’t forget to make a big face while dabbing on some soothing after-shave!
Wait! There’s one last important step to take when you’ve had a shave – don’t forget to clean up the sink and surrounding area! You don’t want your mother to see it in a bad state!
Aah! A nice smooth face, a happy boy, and a proud father! It’s been a great day for his first shave! Tristan’s grown a lot since he was in the neonatal ward.
Wouldn’t this be a great idea for Father’s Day? How do your children like to pretend they are you?
Please note that this was a child’s pretend shaving kit toy without a ‘real’ razor.
