Even with the wet and cool summer we’re having, we’ve recently been talking about whether we should try to go camping with the kids. I haven’t spent a night in a tent in over 10 years, and the kids have never been camping other than in the living room. There’s still time to head out and find a campground, so I thought I’d share some fun learning experiences to keep kids busy while at the campsite.
I’d love to hear how you keep the kids busy while camping, please let me know in the comments below, I’d really love to hear about it!
If you missed last week’s round-up, I featured 14 Free Summer Activities. Have a look through and be inspired! This resource for Moms is packed full of parenting tips, activities for children, crafts, recipes and more!
Learning While Camping
Planet Smarty Pants has a variety of STEM activities that are colourful and interesting to do.
Go for a walk and see if you can spot anything that is camouflaged. I’m sure your kids will be surprised at what can be found. Stella 123 has also turned this into a craft opportunity.
Camping is a great time to get out and observe the moon. Why not turn your observations into a craft and have something to take home with you.
Mom on the Move has brought some sea shells home from vacation and continued the learning with some beach bucket counting.
