Christmas Owl Review
We’ve had the chance to preview this lovely seasonal book. The story flows easily and the rhyme is sweet. The illustrations are so beautifully done you can feel the cold, snowy silence of winter within the pages. It takes me right back to the Saskatchewan prairies and the short days of winter walking to and from university in the twilight stillness.
This book has a meaningful message to open your heart to those who are different from you and you could find lasting friendships. One of the best gifts someone can give is the gift of friendship. Friendship costs nothing, yet is very precious.
Tristan’s favourite character is the bat who loves to read and after finishing this book for the first time, Tristan asked, “Can we make an owl craft?” I think he’s really enjoyed this book if he’s asking for activities to expand it with! I have a craft in mind but I think we’ll wait until it’s a little closer to Christmas to start doing Christmas crafts…but you never know!

About the Author: Angela Muse

I was born in California to a military family. This meant that I was the “new kid” in school every couple of years. It was hard always trying to make new friends, but I discovered I had a knack for writing. I began writing poetry in high school and really enjoyed expressing myself by using pen and paper. After becoming a Mom in 2003, I continued my storytelling to my own children. In 2009 I wrote and published my first children’s book aimed at toddlers. In 2012 I am set to release several more children’s books. Check out what I’m working on by visiting my children’s book blog.
Writing is such a wonderful creative process and I look forward to sharing more of my stories with lots of new little readers!
