My daughter is like so many others; she loves unicorns and horses would love to have one as a pet…but of course that isn’t possible…or is it? We may have found a way to work around this seemingly troublesome issue in a way that pleases everyone.
When Kallista goes to Ju-Jitsu she hears about some of the other children who either take riding lessons or even own their own horses, and as much as we would love to provide Kallista with the same opportunities, it’s not something we can do for various reasons, and she understands, but that doesn’t keep her from dreaming big, though!
And dream big she does…not only does she dream of a horse, but also of unicorns, rainbows, and love, so when Petplan Equine asked if Kallista would be interested in designing her own dream horse, she was chomping at the bit!
Petplan Equine were very patient with Kallista as she spent a lot of time sketching and re-sketching her unicorn so that it would be just perfect…she had many, many drafts. Here is her first one, I love the rainbow, pot of gold, and fairy embellished on it:
And here was her final drawing, after looking up many pictures of horses and unicorns to help her achieve the shape she desired:
We sent off her drawing and she waited with curiosity to see how her sketch would be turned into a real Dream Horse. She didn’t have to wait too long before a big package arrived in the post! We had to go out to an event so we took along the package to open along the way (Kallista didn’t know what was inside at all).

We stopped along the way for the ‘big reveal’….
There’s no denying that Kallista loved the results, and how even the hearts, and circles were recreated with loving detail. Here’s a picture of Kallista and ‘Sesame Snap’ doing homework together at the library:
Kallista simply adores her Dream Horse and takes it for walks around the house, too. Sesame Snap is also my Dream Horse because the best part about this type of pet is that Mom doesn’t have to clean up after it or foot the bills because every responsible pet owner must ensure they have the appropriate insurance. Yes, I’m sure you’ll agree that choosing the best horse insurance can be difficult, but Horse Insurance from Petplan Equine is there to help you walk the course and get you acquainted with the arena so you don’t stumble at the last oxter.
Petplan Equine has been around for over 40 years in the UK, helping to get your favourite stallion back into the race again after an injury or feeling spritely after an illness, for we all worry greatly about our equine friends when they are not in tip top condition.
In addition to insurance, Petplan leads other pet insurance companies by working with over 1,200 UK charities and are tops for working with animal re-homing charities so that more pets can find their dream family, which is a comfort because every living creature should be able to live in peace and happiness.
Now that both Tristan and Kallista have their dream pets, I have more peace while the children care for their ‘pets,’ which makes us all very happy!
This post has been possible thanks to Petplan but all thoughts are my own.
