Festive & Gourmet Degusta Box Top Picks
Each month we feature our top picks in the box. Of course, these choices are based on our own tastes, and I’d love to hear what your favourites are, just pop them down in the comments at the end of this post.

Phil likes red wine while I prefer white, so we both enjoyed a glass of Wolf Blass Wine as there was one 187ml bottle of each in our box. These were a nice addition to our weekly date night. The white was nice and fruity and not too acidic.

We really like Maille brand, and their Dijon Original Mustard is one of our favourites. My children may be a little strange, but they’re absolutely crazy about mustard! We’ve previously written about Maille in this recipe, and they’ve been hooked ever since. They also like to use Maille Dijon Original in their sandwiches – no, a sandwich just won’t do without it.

Daelmans Banket Stroopwafels Minis are irresistible! I still remember my first waffel in Prague one snowy day leading up to Christmas in 2003 with a good friend, and the sweet and chewy texture of them takes me back every time. There’s no danger of these minis falling into your hot beverage as they’re too small to lay atop a cup, but they are every bit as delish. They also make a perfect topping to a bowl of ice cream.
The Kids’ Top Picks

The children liked La Boulangère Plain Brioche Baguettes loaded up with ham and cheese for their lunch while we set up our Christmas tree. It was easy, too, as the baguettes are already pre-sliced.

We received a KIT KAT Individual Santa, and 66g mini Santa bag, which were tasty treats. They’re sweet and milk chocolatey. Instead of the usual wafer bars, these Santa-shaped KitKat are bars of chocolate with little crispy bits mixed throughout. Just the right size for an afternoon cup of tea, too.

Jaffa Cakes Cranberry & Orange were a treat for everyone. Jaffa cakes are something I always take back to Canada as Mom has loved them since her first visit to Northern Ireland 14 years ago. The tart addition of cranberry to the sweetness of orange gives an extra flavour boost to these little cakes of deliciousness. And I must say…a pleasant nibble while the power is out, too.
Other Festive & Gourmet Products

Clipper Advent Calendar of Teas is a fun product, with 24 individually sealed packets of tea, each numbered accordingly. You don’t know what flavour you will have until the tea is made (the flavour isn’t on the teabag paper, either). What a super-fun Advent calendar for adults!

Zest Vegan Coriander & Basil Pesto added some flavour to our whole wheat pasta. Because it’s vegan, it doesn’t contain cheese, so we simply added a fine grating of Parmesan. There’s plenty of flavour packed into this little jar, and we’ll be looking for it in our local shops.

Lindt Treatbars (Mint & Orange) are very festive in their packaging and flavour. The chocolate is so velvety and the center of the bars simply melts in your mouth. And nothing rings more of the festive season than the combination of chocolate and mint; very minty, indeed, rounded out with the smooth chocolate. I wouldn’t mind if Santa filled my stocking with these!

The KIND Peanut Butter Dark Choc/ Caramel Almond & Double Dark Chocolate Nut protein bars didn’t last long. In a busy month working twice the number of hours I usually do, added to other work and study, plus prepping for Christmas, I needed a little mid-afternoon pick-me-up now and again. A dark chocolate layer underneath sticky nuts really hit the spot. Both crunchy and sweet, yum!
