Being a homeschool mom often means that your childrens’ education first before anything else; which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes if Mom doesn’t feel appreciated, either by herself or her loved ones, then burnout will certainly ensue and no one will be very happy. To help her feel more organised and peaceful, I’ve put together a few gift ideas for homeschooling moms.

One thing that has made a big difference to me and to our family has been our subscription to MyFreezEasy; each month more meal plans are added along with their recipes; make them at the time, or better yet, do some batch cooking and freeze them for future days when life is hectic. Generally, a morning of prep and I can have a month’s worth of dinners in the freezer ready to go.

Planners are always a great way to stay organised! Whether you use Homeschool Planet (see our reviews here and here) or a paper and pen planner in the form of a bullet journal or otherwise, there’s always a practical and pretty planner available.

Don’t forget that if you prefer a physical planner, using some colourful pens is also a great way to make it more fun and it works very well for those of us who are learn in a visual manner. I have some great scented inkball pens from Smiggle, as well as a set of these pens, and these fineliners.
Notebooks are great to use for journaling, writing blog post drafts, or keeping to-do lists all in one place.
Gift certificates are great and can be purchased for a plethora of places. Amazon is always a favourite as you can find almost anything there. Other ideas could be for a bookstore so Mom can buy a novel to escape from reality and relax now and again, or treat Mom to a voucher for a hair or nail salon.

Moms love to carry around photos of their children but it’s not easy to drag around a photo album; of course, there are camera rolls on phones these days, but another option is to design a phone case, laptop skin, or even a blue tooth speaker using memorable images.

If Mom is a chocolate lover, something simple like a box of After Eights or Ferrero Rocher or a delectable box of rich chocolate from Hotel Chocolat would be a terrific treat. Or make your own chocolate dipped mango slices.
And of course, chocolate will make her thirsty so why not add some hot chocolate, a box of herbal tea, or even a bottle of sparkling wine to compliment the chocolate for extra indulgence.

Music is a big part of my life and there’s almost always something playing in the background; a new CD or iTunes voucher is a groovy option to keep Mom boppin’ to her favourite classics.
Moms tend to dole out a lot of kisses over the course of a day and no one wants rough lips; give Mom a new lip gloss so she can look pretty and be kissably smooth at the same time! Throw in a packet of fresh mints and she’s good for encouragement and fixing scraped knees once again.

One item that’s long been on my wish list, and I know is much sought after by many other homeschooling moms is a laminator and/or ring binding machine. Think about the time and stress a system like that would save and how with fewer papers flying about how much more time Mom will have for tending to her flock; she may even have time to sit down for a cup of tea and a chocolate.
If Mom enjoys movies you can either purchase tickets or a gift certificate for a movie theatre, buy her favourite movie on DVD, or even set up a Netflix subscription; the kids could watch educational shows and Mom can enjoy her favourite series, and perhaps even have a night off to Netflix and chill.
And of course, every mom loves creations made with love by her darlings, so if you’re feeling crafty and creative, grab the glue stick, construction paper, and paint and have fun (just remember to tidy up the mess afterwards)!
