Who do you see when you open up your favourite book? I See Me! is a unique company that personalises books and gifts for your children to make them extra-special and true keepsakes. Kallista became their newest fan when she opened her very own book and tree decoration. I’m so pleased to be collaborating with them this Christmas.
I See Me! has a wide range of board and story books for children in many genres and for many occasions. It was a very tough decision to choose a book that would be ‘just right’ for Kallista.
You see, Tristan is our first-born and as such he has many books that were purchased for him even before he was born. I’ve inscribed them with the date they were first read to him. Many I read to him in the neo-natal unit of the hospital. This has resulted in Kallista feeling left out. Many times she’s asked for more books of her ‘own.’ The I See Me! books are just perfect for situations like this.
Kallista really enjoys learning about cultures so I chose My Very Own World Adventure for her. Each page has a letter from her name added until her whole name is spelled out (her first and last names). With each letter, she travels to a country that begins with that letter. Even with 3 letters the same-she didn’t visit the same country twice!
In each country a traditional gift is presented to her. After her first name is complete, there’s a passport that shows the stamps from the countries she’s visited.
Kallista asked where some of the countries were and when we reached the end of the book there was a map of the world with ‘her’ countries highlighted! There was also information about the 63 countries represented in the books, and the gift that each child ‘gives’ from that country.
Hola, ‘Kallista! Would you like to sit next to me? We can sip yerba maté, which is kind of like tea.” Anna, from Argentina
My Very Own World Adventure is high quality, with bright, full-colour glossy pages. Kallista treasures it already and has kept it nearby since it arrived.
I let Tristan know ahead that a book would be coming for Kallista, and explained to him why I’d chosen it for her. He was understanding and very enthusiastic for Kallista to open it. He was surprised to see that he was included in the dedication at the front of the book!
Later in the day after Kallista received her very own book, she said,
I feel very special. I feel like I have four more hearts. My heart feels four times filled up!
We also received a Christmas tree ornament. It has silver plated edges with a little glossy cardboard disc slotted in through the top. On one side is a picture of a tree with Kallista’s name above. On the other side is a photograph of Kallista wearing an outfit my grandma knitted for my nephew eighteen years ago. More memories for everyone when we’ll see it each year when it’s unpacked and carefully placed on our Christmas tree.
Our tree is full of memories, and this will fit in with them and Kallista will have her own special ornament to take with her when she’s on her own one day (but not too soon – I’m not ready for her to grow up yet)!
From adoptions, Hanukkah, the birth of a sibling, and ‘just because’ there are gifts for every occasion available from I See Me! Puzzles, lunch boxes, stickers and growth charts, as well as gift certificates are all in the mix. Have a look through their Christmas selection as well.
If you’d like to know more or would like to follow I See Me!, you can connect with them through their website, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and email (for updates and discounts).

How things have changed! Husbands don’t often keep much from childhood, so it speaks volumes that he’s kept a book.

That’s a true dilemma sometimes.

This book looks like so much fun! Was your daughter’s picture included within the book as well? Or just her name?
Crystal McClean says
Good question. I do believe that a photo can be included with the inscription on some books, but the one that we chose didn’t include a photo.

Beautifully done book. I like that the child/ren are incorporated into the book. I also like the glossy pages and that the books are educational.

This book(s) are incredible, not just because they foster reading, but also the uniqueness of searching each page to spell your name(combined with an animal with the same letter) would make it hard for any child to put down

There’s quite a range from board books to storybooks. I think that to start, a parent (or other reader) would have to help very young children read. Kallista isn’t yet able to read her book all on her own, but her older brother has no trouble with it.
On the other hand, it’s lovely to create memories that children will remember of having a loved one reading to them.
I’m sure that if you have questions about any of their products they will be happy to help. There are a couple of ways to contact them on their website.
Happy reading!

I’m so excited to share these great books! I wonder if there can ever be too many personalised books for one child?
My husband went to those countries many years before we met, and he always speaks highly of them. I’d also love to go, great choice!
