You know we’re a frugal family, both out of need, but also out of not wanting to spend money when we don’t have to. After a while, it almost becomes a bit of a game to see how little I can spend during a day, a week, a month. One thing that can always cause a ripple in the plan is when a birthday or big celebration is on the calendar. What can I do then?

One thing I like to do is check out Groupon Goods to see what the new deals are and what will marry my budget with my wish list for the recipient.
When it comes to kids items, Groupon has a huge selection from Hello Kitty pendants to Star Wars RC to outdoor play equipment. There are currently over 5,000 items (5,244 to be exact) to choose from, all in one place and all delivered to your door. I like to get lost amongst the all the deals and search for the perfect gift.
My kids have been asking for a car play mat and I need a way for their Lego bricks to be organised. Night lights, campchairs, moon shoes, tables, themed-bedding, walls stickers, movies, and personalised story books; you can find those, too!
And let’s not forget about gifts for both baby and new moms – I like to give practical gifts that will be used rather than left at the back of a closet. The maternity zip kangaroo hoodie sweatshirt with baby carrier will be great during pregnacy, but also priceless with a baby to keep hands-free around the house and while out for a walk.
And when baby is a little bigger, there are several choices of baby wraps and slings. These are a great gift to promote bonding between parents (they’re not just for moms) and babies and young children. Consider these a gift for the family!
Groupon has just about everything you could think of, and not just for kids! What’s the best thing you’ve purchased from them?
