What happens when kids start to ask dads questions about life? Questions that the dads may not even know? Why, they get together and start a webite, app, and create children’s books to answer the deep questions of life! Kids Vs Life is the result.
You can browse Kids Vs Life website to see what it’s all about and have a look at the book titles currently available. What have been some of the questions these dads have been asked?
- Where does rain come from?
- Why is the sky blue?
- Where does fire come from?
- Why can’t turkeys fly?
How would you answer these questions? Now you can download the books onto your smart phone and your children can read along and find out more about these topics.
In addition to such deep topics, children can also learn about phonics with a series of books.
The Talking World Series will take kids around the world and help them to learn vocabulary from several countries such as Japan, Spain, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
One book that caught my attention was Kids Meet Japan. This book in particular caught my attention (not only because of it’s focus on Japan) but also because it was similar to my own experience of moving away from my home country to Japan and leaving my nephew behind. I wanted to be able to share my experience with him. The author of this book Aleister Kelman moved from England to Japan and yet still wanted to ‘be there’ for his niece more than just when he was able to return for a visit. This book helps children when loved ones move away.

All of the Kids Vs Life books and videos can be found on the website, where you will also find links to the downloads from either iTunes or Kindle. So they’ll fit in your pocket to have at the ready for the next time your child wants to know about the solar system or how to scare monsters.
I can’t wait to see how the books evolve as their kids grow and the questions become more difficult!
I’m curious, what are some of the questions your children have asked that you didn’t know how to answer? Share them in the comments below!
