When the days are dark and cold and the excitement of the holidays have worn off, it can be hard to keep going. Remember that not all learning needs to be done “by the books.” Learning knows no boundaries and can be done anywhere anytime. Sometimes a little day trip to a new location is enough to gain a new perspective and re-evaluate what you’ve been doing and how it can improve.
A couple of years ago I went on a day trip to County Down here in Northern Ireland with some friends. We were searching for red kites, a bird of prey that has recently been re-introduced to this country. We did find a couple during the day, and at dusk we watched the starlings murmurate before settling down into the trees for the night.
It was a memorable day, but one of my favourite parts of the day, other than spending time with friends was sharing this sunrise together through the mist in the valley.
Today, let’s let our learning soar like the birds and remember that there’s no boundary to what we, or our children, can learn.

School may be different around the world and in different cultures, or even among classrooms in the same school, or classes in a homeschool. However, “education” doesn’t have boundaries.
What are you learning right now? At the moment I’m learning about photography through my camera club as well as a free class via Udemy. I’m also learning about conservation by attending RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) meetings over the fall and winter.
What is inspiring you today Let’s share in the comments below.
