We’ve recently been introduced to a new children’s author: Brian Rock. We’ve been reading his newest book, Martian Mustache Mischief, and the kids have been giggling their way through it!
Martian Mustache Mischief is Brian’s 5th book, and I’m glad that he reached out to us to review it! I had a peek at it that night, and then first thing the next morning read it to the children. Oh how they enjoyed it!!
Picture this: Mars is in trouble, and the Martians come down to Earth for help. These little Martians look like fuzzy caterpillars. No one took them seriously, I mean, who would? What were they looking for? Ketchup! Absolute craziness!
The Martians then took over the town with mind control by planting themselves on the faces of men, women, and children. They had the citizens eating everything with ketchup, which turned the Martians red. They had to be stopped before Earth ran out of ketchup! Can you say,
Martian Mustache Mischief!
Martian Mustache Mischief!
Martian Mustache Mischief!
Nope, that didn’t work…onto plan B to rid Earth of Martians…you’ll have to read the book to learn if plan B worked!
This is such a fun little read, and Tristan and Kallista loved it. Tristan enjoys reading it to Kallista, and they both crack up and fall over with laughter when they try to say Martian Mustache Mischief!
Brain has a great imagination, and takes the children on a fun adventure. Joshua Dawson did the illustrations which are fun and bold. They remind me a little of old newspaper comic strips, but better. The pairing between the two is a great fit.
I usually try to add a little something to the books we read and review; a craft or activity…but but Brian has taken care of this all for us! Click over to his website and you’ll find LOADS of fun resources: fun facts about Mars, Mustaches, and Ketchup. You’ll be able to print off your own Martian Mustache, and get to know Brian in the form of a very fun quiz. If you sign up to his newsletter, you’ll also get much more.
If you’d like to know more or would like to follow Brian Rock, you can connect with him through his website, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

I would introduce myself and probably pee in my pants lol!

That’s funny! And thank you for your honesty.

Mustaches are funny things, aren’t they!
And I still don’t get the kid-obsession with ketchup, but Brian has woven the story together fantastically.

I would say, “Hello” and introduce myself than pause and wait and see. Unfriendly then I must run 🙂
