Hello! How is this summer going for you? It’s funny how summer vacations are so different depending on where you live. In England some schools have only just begun their summer holidays, while some US locations are already back to school. However, the weather is still very much summery across the Northern Hemisphere and there’s plenty of time to get outdoors and explore and learn with your children! Today I’m bringing you 30+ fun outdoor summer learning activities to try out this year, and add to your list of ‘must dos’ for next summer.

So many fun ideas! We love learning outdoors in the summer. On our walk this morning we talked about goldenrod, saw a woodpecker, and enjoyed looking at a few new plants that we have yet to identify.

That sounds like a great day! I grew up in a Canadian city so the flora here along the sea in Northern Ireland is a whole new experience for me. The kids know as much (or maybe more than I do) from foraging events we’ve attended. It’s fun to learn about what’s around you!
