Hubby is back to work this week after 2 lovely weeks of vacation. So it’s back to reality for the rest of us. With the unusually nice weather we’ve had more barbecues than usual, so it’s time to get back to planning meals ahead and budgeting our grocery expenses. In light of this, I am focussing on saving money in the kitchen this week.

I have had lots of fun browsing through the whopping 118 wonderful ideas everyone shared last week with Mom’s Library! To see all of the great ideas submitted, be sure to check out last week’s Mom’s Library where I focused on planning.
Saving money
Frogs & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails have made their own yoghurt pops. The flavours could be endless!
All Our Days shows how they save money on blueberries.
Back to the Basics follows along the same theme by doing some organic gardening in south Florida.
Now that you’ve grown your own herbs, it’s time to turn them into something. Sugar Aunts share their recipe for Taco Seasoning.
And bringing it all together with many family-friendly suggestions is Around The Table.
I love all of the above suggestions, and we do many of them ourselves. What do you do to help keep the cost of food down in your home?
