Sometimes things get a little hectic and time gets away from me. All of a sudden mealtime is upon me and and I have a hungry family looking for something to eat. We often go with the standby of pulling a freezer meal out of the freezer, or boiling up some pasta, but sometimes we need a change from the usual. Here’s my recipe for a super simple stir fry for busy days.

What to do when time is tight and there isn’t much in the cupboard? You put together a ‘freezer surprise’ meal. What’s that? Look in the freezer for any little bits that need to be used up and surprise! That’s lunch or dinner! It’ll be a little different every time, and that makes it more fun.
Ingredients for our super simple stir fry:
- Maggi Fusian Noodles
- Frozen (or fresh) veggies
- Diced onion
- Powdered garlic
- Tabasco Green Pepper Sauce
On this occasion, I found almost-empty bags of baby carrots, broccoli, and some mixed veggies. I dropped the contents into a frying pan and started to cook them. I added some diced onions, garlic powder, and a touch of pepper.
While this was heating up I boiled up a kettle of water and poured some into a pot and dropped in a bag of Fusion noodles to cook (these noodles were included in a Degustabox). I added the flavoured oil and packet of dehydrated veggies that were in the packet as well. Once the noodles were almost cooked, I transferred them to the frying pan without the broth and added the flavour packet and gave it all a good mix.

Some family members wanted some of the broth while others didn’t so I poured the broth into only the bowls of those that wanted it. And only the noodles and veg for the rest.
From cupboard to table in under ten minutes, and everyone in the family was happy! It’s not often we have ramen noodles, but this is my preferred way to have them when not in Japan; loaded with veggies!
